Semi-trailer
Full trailers or semi-trailers do not possess their own self-contained power units; the vehicle trains formed by combining them with a towing vehicle fall under the general category of motor vehicles.
A semi-trailer is a trailer in which the axle(s) are positioned behind the vehicle's center of gravity (when the vehicle is uniformly loaded), and which is equipped with a coupling device capable of transmitting horizontal or vertical forces to the towing vehicle. In other words, a portion of the trailer's total weight is borne by the towing vehicle. Its defining characteristics are: it lacks its own motive power, shares the load in conjunction with the towing vehicle, and relies on the towing vehicle for propulsion.

Axle Trailer
This is a single-axle vehicle specifically designed for transporting long or oversized cargo.

Drawbar Trailer
A drawbar trailer is a trailer featuring at least two axles, characterized by the following: at least one axle is steerable; it connects to the towing vehicle via a drawbar capable of angular movement; and the drawbar is capable of vertical movement and is attached to the chassis, thereby preventing it from bearing any vertical load. Semi-trailers equipped with retractable landing gear are also classified as drawbar trailers.

Passenger Trailer
A passenger trailer is a drawbar trailer designed-in terms of its technical characteristics and construction-specifically for the transport of passengers and their accompanying luggage. It may be equipped in accordance with the provisions of sections 1.2.2 and 1.2.3.

Cargo Drawbar Trailer
A cargo drawbar trailer is a drawbar trailer designed-in terms of its technical characteristics and construction-specifically for the transport of goods.

General-Purpose Drawbar Trailer
A general-purpose drawbar trailer is a drawbar trailer designed for transporting goods within either an open (flatbed) or enclosed (box-type) cargo space.

Specialized Drawbar Trailer
A specialized drawbar trailer is a drawbar trailer designed-in terms of its technical characteristics and construction-to serve specific functions, such as: requiring special internal arrangements to transport passengers and/or goods; or being dedicated exclusively to performing specific transport tasks (e.g., car carriers, fire-fighting trailers, low-bed trailers, air compressor trailers, etc.).

Full Trailer
A full trailer is a trailer that is towed by a towing vehicle and bears its entire weight independently. Full trailers are commonly utilized for the internal circulation and transport of goods within factories, docks, ports, warehouses, and logistics centers; a single forklift, towing tractor, or similar vehicle can be used to tow one or more full trailers simultaneously.
